To set up a system or application as a target for synchronization or provisioning, you must first install and configure a connector. Connectors are services that allow the OpenIAM identity manager to communicate with a target to carry out the following types of operations:

  • Provisiong user
  • De-provision user
  • Set / Reset Password
  • Enable or Disable Account
  • Lookup accounts

To install a connector, carry out the following steps:

  • Select Provisioning from the top level menu
  • Next select Provisioning Connectors. You will see the screen below which lists the connector that are already registered. Commonly used connectors such as Active Directory, LDAP and Relational Databases come pre-registered with OpenIAM. 
  • To register a new connector or a custom connector, click on New Connector

On the connector detail screen register the connector. If the connector is implemented as a web service, then you simply need to provide the details for the following felds:

  • Service URL
  • Service Namespace - This can be obtained from the WSDL of the service.
  • Service Port - This can be obtained from the WSDL of the service.
