Depending on how the system is configured, there may be times where the system needs to be configured to force a password change after:
- Password reset
- First time login
To enable either of scenarios above, do the following:
- Log into the webconsole
- Bring up the appropriate password policy
- Set the CHNG_PSWD_ON_RESET attribute to 1. CHNG_PSWD_ON_RESET determines if we should "Change the password after Reset". If this attribute is enabled, then its also set to 1 during user creation.
If this attribute is enabled, then the selfservice application will redirect the user to the change password screen when the password has been reset or its the first time that the user is attempting to authenticate.
